Den danske frontløber inden for samarbejdende robotter har skabt en helt ny og mindre robot. Den har fået navnet UR3 og lanceres globalt på messer i Asien, USA og Europa her i foråret.

Den globale industri har taget de brugervenlige UR5- og UR10-robotter til sig, fordi de leverer en god ydelse i forhold til prisen, og fordi de kan arbejde ved siden af mennesker uden nogen form for afskærmning. Med den nye UR3-robot gør Universal Robots, skaber af UR-robotterne, det muligt at bringe dette koncept helt ind på arbejdsbordet, hvor robotten kan arbejde side om side med medarbejderen.
Trods sine kun 11 kg har den nye kompakte bordrobot en løfteevne på 3 kg, den kan rotere 360 grader i alle led og kan rotere uendeligt i det yderste led. Disse egenskaber gør UR3 til en meget fleksibel og let bordrobot. Du kan se UR3 i funktion i videoen herunder.
UR3-robotten er din tredje hånd
CTO og medstifter af Universal Robots, Esben Østergaard, har stået i spidsen for den tre år lange udviklingsfase bag denne nye UR-robot.
“UR3 gør automatisering på bordniveau nemt, sikkert og fleksibelt. En enkelt medarbejder kan varetage opgaver, som normalt ville kræve to personer, ved at have UR3-robotten som sin tredje hånd. Den er det ideelle valg inden for områder, hvor der kræves 6-akset funktionalitet, og hvor størrelse, sikkerhed og omkostninger er vigtige parametre,” siger han.
UR3 -robotten er særligt velegnet til montage-, pudse-, lime- og skrueopgaver, som kræver ensartet produktkvalitet. Den er kompakt i form og enkel i programmering, hvilket gør det nemt at skifte mellem opgaver og dermed tilgodese fleksible produktionsbehov.
Eksplosiv vækst hos Universal Robots
Lancereringen af den nye robot er ikke det eneste, Universal Robots har at være glade over for tiden. Med endnu et rekordregnskab i år er det lykkedes Universal Robots at nå deres mål om en fordobling af omsætning hvert år i perioden 2014- 2017. Og virksomheden er fortrøstningsfulde om i år også, netop på grund af UR3.
”Første kvartal her i 2015 er startet rigtigt godt, og tegner til endnu et år med stærk vækst. I år fokuserer vi især på at skabe volumen i salget af vores nye lille bord-robot UR3, som industrien har vist overvældende stor interesse for ved lanceringen af robotten på messer i Shanghai, Chicago og Hannover,” siger CEO Enrico Krog Iversen.
Samtidig fastholder ledelsen i Universal Robots sit mål om en milliard kroner i omsætning i 2017-regnskabet. Dette skal nås ved at investere i udvikling af nye produkter og markedsføring og salg af disse.

Desuden vil Universal Robots udbygge med flere regionale kontorer på blandt andet det amerikanske kontinent, ligesom de også vil åbne flere kontorer i Europa.
”Vi ansatte 50 nye medarbejdere i løbet af 2014, og her i 2015 forventer vi at få brug for yderligere 50 nye medarbejdere, fordelt mellem hovedkontoret i Odense og regionale kontorer,” siger Enrico Krog Iversen.
